× Magnitude 5.5 quake shakes Davao Occidental

MANILA, Philippines --- A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Davao Occidental in the early hours of Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.


The quake struck at 3:13 a.m., 187 kilometers southeast of Sarangani town.


Phivolcs said that the temblor was of tectonic origin, and had a 130-kilometer depth of focus.
